This caboose that once was used in this area, was stored in a nearby railyard before it was by the chamber from Reading and Northern Railroad. Now it will be a downtown tourist attraction for historic railroad education



County officials thought it would be fitting to buy a caboose and place it in an area known for its rich railroad transportation history.

Not only will the caboose teach people about the railroad's history in the area but to attract people to downtown Lehighton's trailhead off Sgt. Stanley Hoffman Boulevard, which used to be a train station.
