I bet it wasn't long before they realized what a bad idea it was to be the first part of the fire truck to run into anything during a collision. Ever heard of the Autohorse? Me neither... but that's what the trailer with the firefighting equipment is hooked to (thank you Neil)!

I don't know what that is, some kind of three wheeler, where the front wheel pulls the rest along?

thank you Neil!

  1. Exactly right. It replaces the team of horses that would originally pulled the unit. The two little wheels would support the thing when it was uncoupled from what was now a trailer.

  2. No, I'm sorry I don't. The only one of those things that I can ID by manufacturer is the Christie, built by the tank and race car designer. Jay Leno has one.

  3. Hi Jesse, It's an 'Autohorse' built by the One Wheel Truck Company of St. Louis. https://www.huffreport.com/archives/literature/autohorse.htm
