amazing collection of cool OLD tractors - thank you Jack! In 1998 J. R. Simplot attended the tractor auction of Oscar’s Dreamland. (I just posted about it last month) The auction was billed as the largest private tractor sale in the world, J. R. purchased around 110 antique tractors

Jacks' Urban Meeting Place showcases 50 of those vintage steam engines and tractors to showcase the agricultural roots of Idaho, in downtown Boise.

the fastest ways to see the tractors online, is this page  http://jumpboise.org/vintage-tractors  which has a PDF for each tractor, so you can focus on the ones that you are interested in

or this video:

of course, I did both, and then read articles about the collection

tractor doctor Rob Bearden gives weekly tours of the tractors

they even have one of my favorite designs, the Gray Drum Drive  http://jumpboise.org/media/pdfs/161212_Gray_22-40.pdf

and another favorite, that I've posted about, the Ford tractor that caused Henry Ford to sell his as a Fordson http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2017/01/fordson-tractors-and-caterpillar-track.html

J.R. Simplot's 1967 handshake deal with McDonald’s founder Ray Kroc made his Simplot Company the fast food chain’s number one supplier of frozen potato products

  1. Great post Jesse! I was fortunate enough to see the Jack Simplot collection at JUMP, (Jack's Urban Meeting Place) in downtown Boise 18 months ago. The Simplot's have done so much for the city of Boise and seeing the tractors was a big surprise to see, at such a state of the art community building.
