letting the newbie know the rules of parking spot reservations in snowy Chicago

There was one guy who kept parking in a spot someone else cleared out on the south side of Chicago after they repeatedly told him that the spot was theirs

So, some friends packed the undercarriage tight with snow and for good measure hosed it down with water.

  1. It was pretty funny until I read the postscript. Yankees, really?

Apparently the writer is unaware that like NYC, Chicago is north of the Mason-Dixon!

    1. They are talking about the Yankees baseball team. Whoever wrote the note is probably a White Sox fan.

    2. AAAHH, gotcha!

I grew up playing football in Florida, AKA Football Mecca, everybody played it, watched it or talked about it.

After fifty years I still miss references to other sports....

  2. Poetic justice. This New Yorker needed to be told. Packing snow and coating the car with water is the most useful to this recalcitrant. I am native to New York. In the Bronx, our super (superintendent of the apartment building) would place garbage cans (known as ash cans) in a space so that when we arrived home, we had a parking space.

    1. Tipping the super well at Christmas usually pays off.
