The deed to my house (1871) lists what is now State St as plank road.
Wow! Very cool! What city?
Baton Rouge, La. has a main north/south street named "Plank Road" because in the past, it was paved with boards.. It was built in the early 1700's to connect the city with a railhead a few miles north..
