California finally gets something right, they are changing the law so that former inmates can become firefighters... the stupid irony was that inmates were trained and experienced, but not legally allowed to become firefighters after they got out of prison

Now, how does it make any logical sense to prevent people that have served their time in jail from getting good jobs?

Especially jobs that are hard to hire people to do

So, now nonviolent former prisoners who participated in fire camps will now have an opportunity to become year-round, full-time firefighters
