Back in the day, I had a '55 Chevy 2-door station wagon/panel and we called it a sedan delivery. Originally it was sold with just a driver's seat, no passenger seat; that allowed longer items to fit into the back. It also had a "hatch back-type" type rear door that swung up with hinges on the roof.
Dang, I didn't notice that the '57 Fairlane was a panel delivery wagon. That would be such a cool custom today. When I first started driving I had the two door hard top of that model. sold it for a '63 Econoline Van. Wish I had both of them today.
