good question... how bad are drivers? Why aren't driving tests a bit more complicated so fewer morons pass?

  1. I see it every day !!
I have always thought that folks should have to do the first two years of driving on a motorcycle.. that would quickly weed out the inattentive folks and cause them to have a bit of respect for people on motorcycles!

  2. In the state of California there are an estimated 2 million unlicensed drivers. No license, no insurance, no nothing.
    Scary stuff.

  3. Dittos when we have localized flooding in Charleston (which happens EVERY time it rains, or when we have a King tide). Bypass the barriers set up with your Prius and then wonder why you're stalled in foot deep water. Presume your crossover SUV can get you through the deep water and then get hung up on curbing you couldn't see. Hit that flooded street as fast as you can and hydroplane sideways an run into the Prius stalled and waiting for AAA.

  4. If there were required driving tests at intervals to prove that you can actually operate a motor vehicle safely might help. I have held an unrestricted license in Kansas for 50 years and have never had to take a driving test, ever.

  5. The driving test for my IL non-CDL class A (All Single and Combination Vehicles except Cycles) consisted of 9 miles and five right hand turns!
