What was the clearest waste of effort among car makers in the past decade? Could it be the Aston Martin Cygnet?

just a rebadged Toyota iQ, at 3 times the price....

Aston Martin needed to meet European fleetwide emissions standards, so, since they weren't going to make a low price high quality car, they decided to sell someone else's instead.

Aston was hoping to sell 4,000 Cygnets annually, but after just two years they pulled the plug having only sold 300 units.
