They used to make beautiful vehicles with wheels... and then they painted them with a couple colors, emphasizing coves and curves. Sigh. The good old days when you didn't have to have a helmet, or a license.

You can argue that they had to have licenses for these, in the 30s, and 40s... and in some places, sure, I suppose there was some asshole walking around insisting that his badge meant you had to show a license to fly, or ride... but face it. There were 48 states, and damn few had assholes looking for the papers. Back then you did as you pleased so long as no one got hurt. You could buy a tommy gun (machine gun) or a tank. You could even buy whatever the Army or Navy was selling as surplus. ... including a B 17, 24, 25, 26, P 51, etc etc. So - don't waste time arguing.

Remember, this is only a blog, that means it's what I'm thinking, saying, and putting on the internet, and isn't necessarily intended for other people to agree with. After all, you didn't have to sign up, register, or subscribe - so either you can't find something better to do, or you actually enjoy the stuff I find and share. If so, cool - that's what it's for

Look at the pretty picture, and enjoy it. Maybe even envy the lucky buggers who could jump on a bike and fly down the road, or hop in a plane and fly to somewhere the weather was nice, the lakes were warm, the fish were biting, and people danced on Friday nights to a live band

  1. Especially the 'dance on friday night to a live band' comment. What a pleasant sentiment.

  2. Each generation has "The Good Ol' Days." I'm sorry I missed those ones but glad I had some in my younger life. I look at today's kids and wonder what they will remember about their good old days. Texting? That's sad.
