Though Capt Marvel can fly through time and space, she is supposedly still from the 90s. Because the human tech then is generations old, and obsolete, (and she missed everything Capt Marvel movie to Avengers 4 beginning) she needed an Agent of Shield to bring her up to speed (on cars, and about what happened in Avengers 3)
