These 50 year old crap (Cut rate auto parts = crap) tastic JC Penny shocks are finally replaced on my '69 Coronet

  1. Jesse, If any shocks that were 50 years old looked as good as yours do in the North East they'd be heroes! Yeah I know they are shot, but look, you can still unscrew the nut at the top of the shock with minimal effort.

    1. I hadn't even thought of that! Did you see the back shocks? After cleaning the oil and grime off them, they're going to be garage wall art for me, but to see how remarkably undamaged by the years they are: http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2019/03/i-took-gas-tank-off-to-replace-float.html

    2. Yes, that's exactly what I mean. The back shocks will be great wall art in the man cave. (You should take some shots when that's done.) And even the front shocks, while finished are in remarkable condition, aside from surface rust. That is the saving grace, regarding cars, that the West cost has over the East. The only way to save a car, truck, what ever here on this side of the country is don't drive it in the Winter, EVER.

    3. I thought about the front shocks, and couldn't think of anything I might ever do with them so I tossed them in the dumpster. They're already in the city landfill
