3 weird and ugly cars designs, by Brooks Stevens

I kid you not, I've never seen these all posted together, and realized it had to be done to show what ugly cars he came up with, in contrast to the beautiful vans, trains, etc etc

the answer to this image, is no... Newsom, liberals, and democrats have not a damn iota of logical sense to be found among them

https://dailytimewaster.blogspot.com/2025/01/oregon-is-sending-60-trucks-to-help.html

Further more, if the LAFD had hire mechanics to keep the 20% of the equipment ready for action, instead of wasting $300,000.00 on a diversity equality and inclusion Deputy Chief to manage vanity projects instead of fixing fire trucks... the fire dept would have had MORE firetrucks on the job! More trucks, and more WATER ( reservoirs scheduled for routine maintenance DURING the fire season? Who did that? )

For the anon moron that decided I need to fact check shit... that liberal democrat retards in California are guilty of, that keeps the fire department in Los Angeles from being as effective as they WOULD be without being let down by the other government departments who make idiot decisions

it's rare that I post a computer generated "what could be" image some computer made, but no one has built... most are too damn ridiculous. This probably is too.

Since dealerships are not ONLY out to destroy our cars during test drives, it's only fair to post the few stories of dealerships that do cool outstanding charitable things that deserve the free publicity

Too many times we hear about when bad things happening at a dealership, so it’s great to also share a “good news” story of a dealer going above and beyond to make a special Christmas delivery for a young man suffering with brain cancer.

22 year old Dalton had been training for a career in aviation and was working towards his commercial pilot certifications, when one day he failed to show up for the flight, and he was found unresponsive and suffering from a brain hemorrhage. He was taken to the hospital and rushed into surgery to stop the bleeding, and that’s when the tumor in his head was discovered.

Dalton’s flying days were over, and he was scheduled for surgery and chemo when his step-dad David began calling Chevrolet dealers looking for a Z06 allocation for Dalton. That quest eventually let him to Gary Nelson at Hendrick Chevrolet Birmingham.

After explaining the situation's urgency in trying to locate a Z06 for Dalton, Gary said he could totally relate to the situation. Not only was Gary a former AH1 Cobra combat pilot and a retired Boeing 747 pilot, but he had also experienced the loss of his granddaughter who passed away a few years previously from brain cancer. Gary told David he had two Z06 allocations coming up and one of those would go to Dalton.

Dalton spec’d out his dream Z06 build and then underwent brain surgery. The car was configured as a Z06 Coupe 3LZ in Competition Yellow with Z07, visible carbon fiber wheels, carbon fiber roof, level 2 carbon fiber interior, and several other options that brought the MSRP to almost $184,000.

Of course, the worry about this order was whether or not the constraints would allow it to be built. Gary got the news that it was clear and the order was submitted with the car being completed on December 10th.

While it was great news to have the car completed, the problem now was that the plant was scheduled to close on Friday, December 13th for the three week holiday break. Unless Gary could get that car out of Bowling Green in the next couple of days, it would be stuck there until January. Here is Gary telling us how he did it:

“So when we first talked, he stated he would really like to receive the car before the end of the year. I told him with the way things were going I thought we would see it before Christmas. The car was produced on December the 10th but the plant was closing at the end of the shift on Friday, December the 13th! Normally, when a car is produced, it immediately moves to status 4150-invoiced. However, the next day Dalton’s Z06 was still at 3800-produced. I knew if I didn’t get it out of the plant by Friday that we would not see it until after the first of the year. The dispatcher at Jack Cooper Transport and I have become friends over the years, so I called him and told him my urgency in getting this car. He looked up the VIN and told me that it has not been released to them and he can’t do anything until it does. He did tell me if I can get it released, he would make sure I got the car before Christmas. I made a couple more calls to contacts at the plant and informed them of my situation to see if they could help. Later that day the car moved to 4150, I called Jack Cooper, he looked it up and said it has been released and he would get it on a load coming my way. This was on Thursday December the 12th. I received the car the next Tuesday 12/17, but we had a lot to do to the car other than the regular PDI! He had ordered an exhaust system delivered to me we had to install plus several other items. So I set a date for Monday, December the 23rd for delivery.”

With the delivery date of the Corvette Z06 now sorted out, Gary approached his general Manager Nicole Moley and the Hendrick Chevrolet staff who made the delivery a “red carpet” event for Dalton.

Volkswagen managers will take pay cuts worth over €300m by 2030, losing a larger proportion of their salary than the workforce, to avoid plant closures in the near-term.

Volkswagens sales at home and abroad plummeted, with their products undercut by cheaper Chinese models.

the agreement reached with the union outlines a cost-cutting plan that would allow €15bn of savings annually - in the medium-term.

This includes €1.5bn of savings in labour costs, with staffing numbers set to be reduced by 35,000 by 2030.

VW plans for capacity at its German factories to fall by 734,000 units.

Labour representatives pushed for management figures in VW to take pay cuts and assume responsibility for the firm’s downturn.

Well, you may have wondered when the future was going to get here? I think it did... A Waymo robotaxi crashed into a food delivery robot in Los Angeles

According to the person who shot the video, the Serve robot had run a red light moments before getting hit by the robotaxi.

Still, you'd expect the Waymo cab to be on the lookout for such cases. Pedestrians will often cross the street regardless of what the light indicates, as any urban drivers know.

The problem, apparently, was that the Serve robot wasn't a pedestrian. Waymo told TechCrunch that its driver system had seen the delivery bot and correctly identified it as an inanimate object — and such is the disdain the autonomous vehicle harbors towards its Fellow Robot — so it didn't exercise the level of caution it would around human beings as it's programmed to do.

Christmas toys (Matchbox Thunder Jets) were hidden in the attic where I kid wouldn't find them before Christmas... and only last week were they discovered when he helped his parents with some demolition and renovation of their home, they'd fallen down into a wall, since 1978

The Christmas package accidentally was knocked down from where it had been placed in the attic, and happened to be thin enough to fall down an area next to an old wall and chimney, it appears from the video, and landed behind the bathroom wall.... for 47 years it was there.

He went to help his parents with some renovation and that wall needed to be opened up to get to the plumbing. That's when the package was discovered

Not the sort of thing I usually post, but, it's got Matchbox toys, and is a cool story.

Running a poll, to prove a point to a friend of mine, that either he's right, or I'm right. Here's the issue:

He has the point of view that flirting with women, and women flirting with him, is ok. Them sending photos to his phone, is ok.

He was talking about it (hell, feel free to brag, I think he's certainly in a rare situation if these women ARE flirting with him) and I mentioned that I think he should tell his wife, and never keep any secrets from her of this nature, that are likely to be used against him in a child custody case, and or divorce.

the above happens to be a Gucci scarf. I was curious if this image showed up on the internet anywhere else, https://us.vestiairecollective.com/women-accessories/scarves/gucci/beige-cotton-gucci-scarf-42410075.shtml

Why? I think these photos (and others, and videos) are bait. It's a Honey Trap, a loyalty test. To see if he'll cheat on his wife.  https://www.newsweek.com/cheating-honey-trap-boyfriend-loyalty-test-1794200

Maybe his wife set it up, maybe his mother in law. Maybe, he's right and those beautiful young women half his age are making a pass at him, a married guy, 53 years old with a couple daughters, and about an extra hundred pounds of spare tire. (There ain't no damn way beautiful young women are hitting on a guy John Goodman's size, who ain't famous, ain't rich, and ain't Leo DeCaprio)

That's my instant take on the situation

He disagrees, said his dad's advice decades ago had been that what a wife don't know won't hurt you.

So, chime in, in the comment section, and tell me, who's right.

Don't type out why, just who is right. Him? Or me? Keep it that short, I'm only interested in discovering if I'm way out of touch with what's right and wrong, and since I already know all the married people have a lot to teach me, as I've never been married, I don't need to get into that here.

Twin-engine Yamaha RXZ by FNG Works, 2 RXZ 135 engines melded into one, a bespoke chassis, and a commitment to visual balance

Uwe Oltmann made a 5-cylinder Puch, it’s unrideable. It runs with all five cylinders firing enthusiastically, but once you get it going, it’s far too noisy and hot to be usable.

This project started as a 1976 Puch Maxi S moped, to which Uwe promptly added four more Puch engines. Each engine has been bored out to 70 cc, with a central shaft linking the bottom three engines, and two belt drives connecting the fourth and fifth.

This moped also features a prototype swingarm and a set of race-spec WP Suspension, both from Ralf Waldmann’s 1993 Aprilia RS 125 R Grand Prix racer. The front wheel uses a heavily modified moped rim, the rear wheel is a magnesium item from PVM

The start sequence includes spinning the rear wheel to get the first engine going, then releasing each subsequent engine’s fly clutch with a wrench. The 350 cc Puch makes 127.5 decibels at full tilt, and the only way to stop it is to pull all five spark plugs.

We didn't have all the books that have been written in the last 40 years when I was a kid, but we sure had some fun ones

Must be great to have mountains in the area that you can race down in the summer or winter!

a pre-production 57 Nomad with one of the first Rochester fuel injection units, was part of the Chevy 12 month showroom fleet before being sold to it's 1st owner in 1957... and 2nd in 2005, and that families daughter started a restoration business at age 13

The project became deeply intertwined with the next generation of automotive enthusiasts through Riley’s Rebuilds, a thriving restoration business founded by Dane Trask’s daughter Riley when she was just 13 years old.

Now 19, Riley has transformed her teenage passion project into a respected enterprise, while simultaneously pursuing degrees in physics, mathematics, and mechanical engineering in Connecticut.

Alongside her brother Graham, she’s carrying forward the family’s dedication to automotive excellence, even co-hosting “Repair 2 Rev” on Hemmings’ YouTube channel with her father.

Recently awarded Concourse Gold Certification at MCACN 2024, this remarkable 1957 Nomad is more than just a restored classic car through the dedicated efforts of Dane Trask and his team of restorers.

Damn, what a surprising scoop Carbuzz.com got, they found that the R35 Nissan GT-R was mostly engineered by truck experts from Isuzu

80% of the Nissan GT-R’s development team were former employees from Isuzu’s passenger car division. According to the post, the former Isuzu engineers were mainly in charge of transmissions and suspensions, two of the machine’s most celebrated and cutting-edge systems. This sparked discussions about the GT-R’s engineering and potential links to Isuzu's expertise in truck and diesel engines.

Kazutoshi Mizonu, the Chief Engineer for the R35 GT-R, popped into the conversation to clarify things. In a translated tweet, he mentions that the Isuzu engineers started out in that automaker’s truck division, not its passenger car division, and that they were inexperienced when it came to developing supercars. Thanks to teamwork training and determination, each was transformed into a world-class engineer in about 18 months, said Mizonu.
