I see this a lot more lately, scrubbing all the paint off a California license plate, but not the stuff that matters, the letters and numbers

      Nope. I read, once long ago, that we ordinary folks are not allowed to do anything at all with our very own license plate. Nothing. Not even allowed to get it dirty. We sure are not allowed to do a thing to the special light reflective paint that the stop light cameras use for taking photos of our plates with... but I can't understand why this person didn't change the paint on the letters and numbers. That's key to getting busted by a stop light camera
