Meanwhile in the news, Biden is out, and so are many of his Democrat party policies.

former President Joe Biden’s stricter fuel efficiency standards, which called for new vehicle fuel economy averages to increase for 2027-2031 model year passenger cars, light trucks built in the 2029-2031, and heavy-duty pickup trucks and vans in which fuel efficiency was slated to increase by 10 percent per year for the 2030-2032 model years and eight percent annually for those produced in the 2033-2035 model years.

As Sean Duffy was sworn in as the new Secretary of the United States DOT, his first act was to sign a memorandum directing staff to start the process of resetting CAFE standards, to lower the prices of new vehicles, as well as eliminate what has often been referred to as the  2021 Biden “electric vehicle mandate,” that sought to ensure that half of all new vehicles sold in the U.S. were all-electric by 2030.

We are already hard at work ushering in a golden age of transportation by taking immediate action to remove government overreach and lower costs for hardworking Americans.

The memorandum signed specifically reduces the burdensome and overly restrictive fuel standards that have needlessly driven up the cost of a car in order to push a radical Green New Deal agenda.

Porsche and Audi are open to building cars in the United States if the Trump administration imposes new, much higher tariffs on vehicles imported from Europe and Mexico

industry trade journal Automotive News wrote that Porsche and Audi import all of the cars they sell in the United States, and the new proposed tariffs will drastically affect sales

Porsche sources all of its models from Europe: the 911, the 718, the Panamera, the Taycan, and both versions of the Macan are built in Germany, while the Cayenne is made in Slovakia.
Audi’s Q5 is made in Mexico, while the other models in its range are imported from Europe.

There’s no way that either brand can set up a manufacturing operation in the United States before Trump’s deadline.  However, Porsche and Audi could turn to parent company Volkswagen to skirt profit-robbing tariffs as quickly as possible by expanding Volkswagen's Chattanooga, Tennessee, factory

  1. The interesting part about the VW plant in Chattanooga, is that its built on part of the former Volunteer Army Ammunition Plant, a factory built in WW-2 to make TNT for bombs, bombs that were used in defeating Germany.
