That spare tire location brings back a memory! I bought a new 1967 Firebird. It came with one of those inflatable spare tires. I told the dealer I wanted a full size spare. They asked me which side I wanted it on in the trunk. I said "Put it in the middle, better weight distribution." Well duh, the only luggage I could get in there was soft sided bags!
