1927 Cadillac with a headlight/radiator cap accessory I've never seen before, a 314 Suburban that was purchased used from Don Lee Cadillac in Los Angeles

I've also never seen bolt together construction mufflers

  1. That is an unusual lamp on the radiator. I think it's interesting that the original owner just kept adding new license plates to the car and didn't take off the old ones.

  2. I stopped my work and viewed four of the videos including the 35-minute long #5. Very interesting. Then, the man who owns the Cadillac showed the 1929 Westinghouse air system for retrofitting to automobiles. This is a conventional air brake system. The subject Cadillac is a brilliant execution. Thanks for the presentation.

  3. Hey Jesse, what's with the roof? Is that a lattice work frame for fitting the canvas/fabric style tops they used to do,I wonder. Never seen the "skeleton" before!

    1. exactly, making a solid roof was something that didn't happen until the late 20s, or early 30s for mass manufacturing, and I think it had to do with welding, but I am guessing. I did post a couple things about the solid roof issue YEARS ago, and can't recall what those were, something about turret roof, I think it was.
SO anyway, the roof material has rotted off this car, probably a lot to do with rain and sun damage as this was left outside.
