THIS is cool! Art AND car cruising history! the Restless Ribbon (Brookside) was the place to be and be seen during Tulsa high school years. The Brookside Strip was between 31st and 51st and South Peoria.

There is even a Facebook page about cruising the Restless Ribbon that this journal page is about!

Fwiw, the Street Machine / Van Nationals were in Tulsa in 1976 and 78. The Street Rod nationals were here in 76 and 73 as well.

  1. That brought back a rush or memories! Did that every Friday and Saturday night back in the late 60's and early 70's. Thanks for the post. Loved it!

    1. you're so welcome, I was born too late for the late 70s cruising, but was into it in my late teens, and I would post much more of it, but so few photographers caught any of it in photos worth looking at.
Car Craft did some, and we've all seen those, and reposted them. These though, are new to me. I haven't seen these online before, and they are really GOOD photos.
I'm glad they found the right place in your memories!

  2. I had friends in Tulsa and would cruise this strip some in the mid to late 1980s. No photos.
