what's the right word for the towing crane in the back of this truck? Davit?

ships use something similar for loading small cargo

the one in the truck has a lot more support girder welded on

Anyway, is there a better word for that in the back of the truck?

  1. Maybe Gin Pole. Looks more like it is for lifting engines than towing.

  2. I’ve always known them as a wrecker “boom”. But this one has a very un- boom shape, doesn’t it.
