I dig the winged cars when they were in full race mode, and thought, why not collect the whole set?

  2. That's Freddy Lorenzen in that 28 Dodge. Too bad he left racing early in his career. He was a hell of a driver.

I see you have Richard's Super Bird in the banner, but maybe you could include his in the pictures too? Yes? No?

    1. Do I sense a complaint? What? Huh?!? Yes! Yes I do! That was a complaint! You know the rules, all complaints must be written on 20 dollar bills. Petty's car is in the banner, and when the Super Bird post was up top, they all were aligned, and it was part of the group. After that, it was still on every page that the super bird post appears on.

  4. I had to look up the 305 CI engine in the #22 Dodge. Maybe you've posted about it before, but for 1971, NASCAR restricted the winged cars to 305 cubic inches.

I can't find any information about the 429 CI engine in the #99 Daytona, but there are a lot of pictures of the car online.

    1. 30 over bore on a big block is 3 cubic inches... 426 + 30 over = 429.
I posted on the 305 powered Daytona as it was the last winged car in racing Nascar, Keith Black destroked a 340 to 305, Mario Rossi raced it and I posted about it in 2017 https://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2017/05/in-1971-nascar-created-305-cu-in-rule.html
