ever just get a satisfaction in looking at machinist machinery? Bridgeports, South Bend, etc?

I've never heard of a Deckel, but I dig the way it looks. Simple industrial. https://seboss1.tumblr.com/post/176249467330/machinistlife-located-these-images-on-a-russian

  1. It's a German made universal milling machine, and a damn good one. The FP2 is has been copied by dozens of manufacturers. It's typically used in tool rooms, and if you have the full compliment of attachments, (vertical boring head, angle attachment, slotting attachment, indexing head, etc. etc.etc.) a skilled machinist can make virtually anything.
