Another incredible cool hot rodding story, the 'Ballard Special', a twin engine racer, with two Ford 4 bangers, timed 90 degrees out so that they now run in a traditional straight 8 form with a 1-5-2-6-4-8-3-7 firing order ... thank you Doug!
It is indeed a cool car, though kind of too bad that in the quest for hotrodding an A they did not manage to find a pair of Frontenac heads. Once the go-to soupup for flathead Fords. The Model B engine, almost a clone of the Model A, also had a counterweighted crankshaft, which might have been kind of nice. Oh well, it's a cool car anyway, though I don't think I can scrape up enough pounds for it.
Cool racer! Thanks

ReplyDeletefollowup to my other comment, it seems that Frontenac made heads for the Model T but not the A. I thought they kept on but maybe not.
