It would be a wonderful way to look around on a route only train engineers ever see... and less risky than hopping a ride one a train (as railroads REALLY hate people that do that) but as much as I love engines, this would be one ride I'd want to be completely silent so wildlife wouldn't be spooked. (I grew up in the Upper Peninsula woods, right on the Canadian border basically, and love seeing the deer, porcupines, racoons, etc doing their thing when they don't know humans are around, but you have to be incredibly sneaky and silent to get close enough to see them / unless you're driving and want to avoid smashing into a deer, running over a skunk, etc)
