Those body lines replicated in fiberglass or carbon fiber on a tubular frame would be much cheaper and with a decent small block Chevy would be fast as hell. Maybe I need to call my Scarab pals in Kansas and pitch it to them. Besides, I need to get back to work on a part time basis. Makes my head hurt just thinking about it!
Long ago I had a friend whose father had one of those, a red one. Lovely little car, beautifully proportioned. One little oddity I read about later is that the little aluminum-grilled vents on the hood, which were supposed to help cool the engine, were too close to the windshield, and blew in instead of out.
They always were a very pretty little sports car.
ReplyDeleteNow this is a car that would get my attention. What great lines. A new car with old lines. Hard to beat that!
