Old Man Parker's 1937 Oldsmobile, from the movie "A Christmas Story" hasn't went far from where the movie was filmed in Ontario, and it's been fixed up a bit for dependable driving

While the movies story takes place in Hammond, Indiana, A Christmas Story was largely filmed in Canada. It was a low-budget affair, and many of the classic cars that appear in it were driven by locals braving the salty, slushy snow of an Ontario winter.

A couple of months after filming wrapped, and before the movie premiered, the car was sold to a local who planned to restore it, but after 10 years passed, and nothing happened, it was bought by John Heary in the 1990s.

He fixed the rust and installed a Chevy 350 V-8 and a GM TH350 automatic transmission, and updated the electrical system voltage from six-volt to 12-volt. He passed away and his neighbor, Al Grondin acquired the Olds about six years later.
