  1. Not a Malibu - a Chevelle SS 396. Only model the L78/L89 was available in.

    1. Look, I just write what the source says are the facts are. If you think the guy doesn't have a clue, email him or the newspaper that said it's a Malibu

    2. “It’s a top dog,” Nichols said. “So far, this is the only Malibu two-door sport coupe version, Daytona yellow, L78, L89 ever found.”

  2. Well it says Malibu on the sales contract. Chevrolet knew what it was selling. I really like the wheels. They look like American Racing torque thrust. Correct me if I am wrong. But I have really never been clear as Malibu and Chevelle are the same body, which is the upgrade?

    1. The Malibu is a model of the Chevelle. I found a website that explained the different models over the years. In some years, the SS was an appearance package, and in others it was a performance package. If I remember right, the Chevelle 300 was the base model, and the Malibu was an upgrade. For the early years, it appears that the Malibu was a hardtop (sport coupe) and the 300 could be a 2-door sedan (Post windows) or hardtop. The website said "All Malibus are Chevelles, but not all Chevelles are Malibus".

  3. The panel paint job looks really cool on this car.

The bill of sale specifically says that the car is a Malibu, and the way he quotes part numbers for different parts on the engine, I think he knows what he's talking about.
