RB freeze plugs, when installing, use some Permatex Form-A-Gasket on them to help prevent leaks. Don’t use common silicone sealant, because it will dry up and push out the freeze plugs.
I lost a freeze plug once. Was driving a KGS issued chevy suburban. Luckily I was passing the local Chevy dealer and was able to pull up to the service door and shut down with no damage. Sure does make a large cloud of vapor
