David Lozeau continues to surprise and amaze me... I had no idea he had a booth at Comic Con! Like last year finding him at SEMA, it's a great surprise to find him unexpectedly at a convention! (And he survived the Gilroy Garlic Festival massacre!)

Devil's DeVille

Not only did he blow my mind with this caddy... and Death, riding a black horse (metaphorically) but he has a new series of “Sea Hags and Scallywags”

Fishin Mission

but you probably haven't had the mind blowing up close look at his hand made and - relative to each painting - apropos frame that adds the COOLEST details. Seriously - I've looked at a LOT of art in my 40 some years of appreciating art and artists, and NO ONE ELSE has ever made a frame that ADDS more cool stuff to look at that COMPLIMENTS the painting!

Can I afford one? Nope. Not gonna happen, probably not ever. But I can share the photos. So, if you love art, artists, wood working, and San Diego locals - how's your mind not wiped out by David Lopez's framed art?

Shark bites from a lifeguard shack! Lol,... I love it! It makes my AWESOME list!

Death Valley - which he created during SEMA 2018  https://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2018/11/i-was-really-surprised-to-find-david.html

US Army green straps, and below, very reminiscent of a Shinto Shrine and Japanese ornamental piece on top center

But this one? Aircraft canvas over a light wood structure? See what I mean about the incredible frames? They've blow my mind since 2012!

his humorous take on the "day of the dead" cute skeleton guys is a hoot... and he hasn't stopped creating yet, and I think I met him in 2012.

Band on the Run, get it?

how do you not love a guy that does a new take on Evel Knievel?

just a couple new ones from his Day of the Dead  collection https://www.davidlozeau.com/collections/day-of-the-dead

an example of that regardless of bikes, cars, trucks, or other common mechanical things, he paints them all perfectly, then adds the skeletons/ I was quite surprised to see a bike race painting!

It's quite a mental wrench to discover he was at the Gilroy Festival... when you think you're sure that no one you know was there, hey, the news sucks - but at least you know none of your friends and acquaintances were there, right? You know? But to suddenly read https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10219067779743527&set=a.1513095745471&type=3&theater and find out you know people that were there? Woof. That's a sudden panic stop of the brain, damn! I just read the news about the animation studio in Japan getting hit, and the dozens injured and dead, including the Akira artist... it's been a fucked day for poking my head out and seeing the news. Anyone else regret getting out of bed?
