    1. It's been a crazy good year! I started out this year a bit off put by the cool stuff I'd come across in 2017, and thought that I'd peaked on finding incredible stuff, that there wasn't going to be much I could do in 2018 to match that. I was surprised by the variety, and amount, that I found in 2018

  2. Peaked? Never, you'll keep finding stuff you've never seen before.

    1. yup, I even had a post about it, and learned why! https://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2018/02/heres-original-of-banner-its-gotten.html
The backstory: Diamond Bar, California, August 1965.

The photo went around the internet, and 4 years later the MG's owner's sister wrote into Shorpy to tell the story for posterity

That is my dad out in front looking at my oldest sister's MG.

The MG had been slashed to bits... the tires and the tarp.

We were going to the beach and she parked the car at the church. While we were getting ready to go, there was a terrible accident on Diamond Bar Blvd, which she witnessed.

When the police came, she told them who's fault it was. When they left, we all went to the beach.

When they got back from the beach the MG was vandalized. We knew who did it, but could not prove it.

  6. Ah-ha, so that's the story. Thanks for the insight/update on the picture. Sounds like the midnight persuasion comity needed to speak to these perps.
