incredible photo from the movie "Blue Max" of the German planes and that interesting painted pattern, which I just learned were vegetable dyes onto the plane fabric to save weight instead of painting.
The DR. 1 would never have that lozenge fabric. The D VII would. It was printed onto the fabric with vegetable dye to save weight and paint. This picture is from the 1966 film "The Blue Max".
