What is this unusual license plate? Anyone know?

Upper right hand corner yellow sticker says Occupational License... I don;t know what that is either

New Vehicle Distributor - Cannot be used on service vehicles. Only one plate is required on the vehicle. Per California Vehicle Code 296, 9262, 11715

296. A "distributor" is any person other than a manufacturer who sells or distributes new vehicles subject to registration under this code, [and sells or distributes] new trailers subject to identification pursuant to Section 5014.1, or new off-highway motorcycles or all terrain vehicles subject to identification under this code, to dealers in this state and maintains representatives for the purpose of contacting dealers or prospective dealers in this state.

  3. DST = Distributor. Vehicle is in the possession of a Distributor, so it is no longer owned by the manufacturer, but the MSO has not been assigned to a dealership yet, either. Basically for vehicles under transport.

  4. I presume that the sticker is removed once the car has been assigned to a dealer?

    1. I'd say so, or, it's merely covered by the sticker the DMV gives the new owner of the vehicle.
