motorcycle injuries analyzed and racing crashes vs manufactures protective gear,

from information gathered and compiled by Jarno Zaffelli at studiodromo.it 2013

The study investigated on what is the best leather per class and overall, depending on the injuries occured to their riders. Surprisingly some of the "unknown" leathers performed very well, and some "well known" were a bit disappointing. To be considered also that the classes were leathers are, are different. Maybe some brands invested fully in moto3 and not in MotoGP, so they are not fully comparable. Some got more than 100 crashes, some less than 10, so also this is a factor. The real news for us was that brands involved are more than 20, and only 5 or 6 are known to the public. Later this year I will incorporate also helmets, booths and gloves, and maybe I will release the full report of the past year.
