I read somewhere that GM wants it's dealerships to NOT mark up the price of Corvettes.... but, the 2023 C8 Corvette has caused at least 2 dealerships to ask for $100,000 over MSRP

IF the video doesn't immediately start 5 minutes and 15 seconds after this guy decides to waste your time, just skip all his useless yammering, and get to the audio recording of the dealership that wanted an extra 100k for priority sale of the Vette.

It's only a 45 second audio. This guy felt he needed 13 minutes for some reason... must be a You Tube monetization minimum time

  1. I was skeptical about this, because I didn't think anyone would pay almost double the price of one of these Corvettes. The base price of a '23 Z06 is about $106,000. However, I found a list of different dealers and what they are charging for the Z06. There is one at $100k, one at $75k and a couple at $50k. The ones that say they are selling at MSRP only say Corvette Stingray, not Z06. I saw one article that said the whole allotment of 2023 Z06s are already reserved.

    1. I worked as a photographer at a Dodge dealership from 2013 to 2020, and every thing that was in demand, was reserved by dealerships when they learn about it from corporate, then they decide how much of a mark up they would add to the cost, then they call up their repeat customers who simply must buy the newest coolest thing, and flip! Another sale, and another used car traded in. There are so many rich people, and they simply have nothing to do with their money, except spend it to get the toys they want to play with.
The dealerships that are in some small town low population area, well, they too get their allotment from the factory, of highly desireable, low production number vehicles, and they simply sell those to dealerships in areas where rich people live. We got a lot of Hellcats and Vipers that way
