This one's a bit radical, but I've seen quite a few of this sort of thing. The local sect of Amish eschews electrical tools but is OK with portable internal combustion power, so they use gas power converted Dewalt's along side turn of the century hand powered drills and saws on construction projects. Some appear pretty well sorted so I've guessed they were developed for distant rural or frontier use, while others are clearly home-built.
