Two years ago, a book The Face of Change: Portraits of Automotive Evolution, displayed the photography of Michael Furman, focused on the front of various vehicles, with words about why the cars we see coming toward us look the way they do, now, there's a book about the tail end of cars, also, photographed by Furman (awesome photographer).

Several others contributed stories to the book as well, including Bruce Meyer and such designers as Tom Matano, Louis de Fabribeckers, Ralph Gilles, Franz von Holzhausen and Ed Wellburn; collector and museum owner Fred Simeone; concours founder Bill Warner; and historian Leslie Kendall.

Interesting topic for a book. I don't usually think too much about the styling of the back of cars, but there are a lot of cars that are recognizable by their tail lamps or other features on the back end. Not a cheap book, though - $109 on Amazon.
