  1. Did it all the time, still do. I stand on my TR6 when I'm too lazy to move to get something from the garage rafters.
We forget how thick the metal was in those days.

  2. Einstein would have said it was relative.
Some years ago I went to Chicago in winter and I was horrorized to see a Porsche 911 cabrio with the canvas top, under a 40cm layer of snow. I guess that Porsche costed above USD 30000 .
On the other hand, when I bought my first new car, I did not take home until I finished a roof for the garage, to protect car from the sun, the heavy rain and the hail. My car costed USD 5000 .
    It was relative.
For the Porsche guy, USD 30000 was not a problem, but for me USD 5000 were most of my life savigs.
May be the Jaguar guy was the grandson of Sir William Lyons, and he had plenty of cars to step on.
    But anyway, it is sad.

  3. A buddy of mine had a trailer hitch on his Jag. Used it for years!
