I hadn't heard about the C10 hood problem, until someone bent the hell out of a C10 hood at Barrett Jackson

  1. I believe that's closely related to the " you must lubricate the hinges problem".

  2. They built in a weak spot halfway up the hood so it would crumple on impact and not go through the windshield. But that meand more attention to the hinges so they hinged properly.

  3. I had a Blazer for a while, and you had to be careful closing the hood so it wouldn't bend. I saw a Chevy truck recently that had reinforcements welded under the hood in those spots.

  4. I wonder if the truck was original or restored? When I was buying parts for my Square a couple years ago those hinge reinforcements parts were cheap and easy to come by.

  5. That hood is built flat, 1st generation that wouldn't happen.
