a young woman who needed a car for grad school was lucky to have a local county sheriff for a dad.
He sourced a Mustang II that was headed for auction, and it was problem free... but the young woman hated it because it was gutless, and got passed going uphill, by semis.
She finally complained about it so bitterly that her dad traded it straight across for a riding lawn mower.
Yep, a used Mustang II was no better in a trade, than a good riding lawn mower.
That is pathetic

i just bought two vehicles,
ReplyDeletea 1998 Honda 250 ATV
and
a 2002 4WD Jeep Liberty
both one owner in good condition,
the Honda ATV cost $4000 in 1998, has a current book value of $700 and I paid $900 for it
the Liberty cost $18K in 2002 and has a current book value of $ 1,800 and I paid $500 for it,
in 20 years the ATV lost 75% of its value
in 16 years the Liberty lost 99% of its value
a good riding lawnmower is worth more than alot of used cars on the road today.
my brother paid more for a new mower than he paid for the one owner 1997 Thunderbird he just bought and drives daily.
