imagine trying to drive in ice ruts... as this is Montreal, pre 1936 (that's when headlights commonly changed to on top of fenders)

  1. Probably at least 1936. That is a 1936 Dodge front and centre. The fender just visible on the right might be something 1937. At the far end between the two rows of cars on the right is a 1935 or 1936 Packard 120. From the look of the diff the convertible on the right is a Ford. I though 1935 or 1936 , but it has a straight bumper - maybe it is a '37?

    1. You can recognize and identify nearly everything, I leave that to you, I simply have learned and forgotten too damn much, but I retained that the 1936 Ford had the headlights mounted on stalks, or the bar, and in the 1937 was the first to mount them in the fenders. So, I got that, and it's not much more than a basic guide for getting my guess to the early 30s, or the late 30s, and the rest is mostly guess work. I can't identify a single car in this photo, I'd have to waste hours to figure them out by looking through the bookshelf of reference books, and online.
Thanks! you've verified I'm not too far off, and that's all I aspire too. I'm in the ballpark, and with all the stuff I post about, that's close enough
