automotive companies used to pay radio makers to display the names of the car parts companies on radios... so that there was something IN the homes to keep those names in the collective, and force them into becoming household names (see how that happened so easily?)

I have collected 6 radios, 2 are Grundig consoles, 2 are Zenith Transoceanic, one is a big desktop wood cabinet Philco, and one is a red deco Crosley... and I appreciate them because of the design aspect of looking at them... the wood grain of the Philco is marvelous - I am enamored by beautiful wood grain stuff, tables, shelves, tripods, whatever...
