You may have seen this site already, but it explains a bit more of why this plane was painted so colorfully, and shows a few other very nice "assembly ships." Not much help on what a Pom Inspector might have been, though.
you may have seen this post already, but it explains I've already posted what I consider to be the most thorough and complete article on assembly ships/Judas Planes that is online... anywhere. http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2014/10/judas-goat-bombers-assembly-ships.html If you didn't, then I hope it causes you to realize I have a lot of archives that are full of things you will enjoy, or find very interesting. Also, at the bottom of every post is a couple of "tags" to link every post to all similar posts from the past 14 years. Thanks for the link to Airscapemag, they have better photo sizes of the photos I already had, and that I'll use them to increase the quality of the post from 2014. Thank you!
Hmm, in Australia a 'Pom' (more commonly a 'whinging Pom') is known as something entirely different. As the joke goes: "Q: What's the difference between a Pommie jet and a Qantas jet landing at Sydney Airport? A: The Qantas jet stops whining after it has landed."
