winner of the 1985 Indy 500, (beating Andretti by 2.477 seconds) was a taxi driver in New York City only 5 years prior to that.


He then went to Hollywood, and got a bit part in the movie The Doors, and on Miami Vice

  1. I remember the race well. It is the day I lost all respect for Mario. In a post race interview he was obviously bitter and claimed he set Sullivan up for the spin out by sucking him into going into the corner to hard. He was just lucky a bitter Mario said. You can't deny Andretti's record but his arrogance came to the surface. After that I found his arrogance shined in most interviews and sadly his highly successful son didn't fall far from the tree.
