Douglas C-47 "Raisin-Bombers" being unloaded at Berlin Tempelhof Airport during the Soviet Blockade of 1948-49.


 The only way to get food, medicine and coal into West-Berlin was by Airplane.

At its peak the Allied airbridge brought in more than 10,000 tons of freight per day.

    My Dad and Mom were there in Germany after the war during the occupation with my two sisters and brother at the time. And in '51 I came along, their over seas baby. Dad had something to do with the are lift as he and the family were stationed there in '47. What amazing history.
