Sitting here with my mouth open. Its one thing to just neglect your brakes to the point of absurdity, or to rig it up with some wood, wire, tape, etc. But this? If you're going to go to this much trouble, i.e., disassembling the brakes, and making a steel pad to weld on... why not go and get a set of pads, even pads from a car in a salvage yard. Go get a payday loan and get it done right so you won't DIE or kill someone else with this. It also shows a stupid level of trust in her brother's welding skills. Sheesh... Forrest Gump was right.
