I didn't know Seagrave made a V12 dual plug engine

    It is derived from the V12 Pierce-Arrow car engine. I think there was more than one size. Probably worth a well researched story if someone has the time.

Reliability was a major selling point for fire truck manufacturers, and the practice of running 2 independent ignition systems was fairly common in those days (American LaFrance featured similar systems on their engines as well). I've been told that synchronizing the timing on these engines was a major challenge, even for the best of mechanics.
