The Broadmoor is an iconic Colorado Springs resort, historic and the longest running Forbes 5 star, AAA five diamond resort. It opened in 1918, and among other interesting things, commissioned Maxfield Parrish (one of my favorites https://justacarguy.blogspot.com/search?q=maxfield ) to craft a painting of the hotel.

this '67 Lincoln Continental limo was originally ordered by Anheuser-Busch to transport the company CEO August Busch II. (not to be confused with the other beer company inheritor, August Pabst, the 1959 USAC and 1960 SCCA road racing champion)

5 years ago the former armored 1950 Cadillac limo of President Einsenhower, was bought from a museum to be a wedding limousine, but ended up damaged on the way home with the buyer

Abandoned limousine ZIS-110, found in the city of Knezha in northwestern Bulgaria.

After the government service ended, some of the cars were cut into scrap metal, and some were taken for personal use by drivers or film studios. But not all copies had an enviable fate. This one was thrown right on the side of the road.

Only the body remained from the original ZIS-110. In the 80s, it was rearranged on the frame and chassis of the GAZ-51 truck. Under the hood is not a 6-liter gasoline engine, but the Bulgarian D-3900 diesel engine

These photos, by the way, were taken back in 2010. The car stood in the open air for a long time, but was eventually sold in 2012-2013

Built in 1918 by Spencer Penrose, the Broadmoor Hotel has needed to shuttle guests from the airport to the resort, so starting in 1937, the Broadmoor commissioned fleets of Cadillacs to ferry its guests to and fro, specifying retractable roofs so passengers might better enjoy the sheer vertical grandeur of their surroundings.

For 1959, the Broadmoor ordered six Cadillac wagons. While earlier Broadmoor limos had been built by professional automotive coachbuilder S and S, this run of vehicles was constructed by the Superior Coach Company of Lima, Ohio. Built on the same platform that concern used for its Superior ambulance and Royale hearse, the Broadmoor Skyview differed from your average limousine of the time by presenting a wagonoid profile. Riding on a 156-inch wheelbase, the four-row Skyviews were 251 inches long, 24 more than an Escalade

when Elvis married Priscilla in May 1967, this limo was a wedding present. Only has 109k miles, a 462, and needs a bunch of work to get back in shape, but sold for 150k this past weekend

this 66 Continental is noteworthy for being a rare factory-backed limo constructed by Lehmann-Peterson that was one of the best of its time.

Just a nice limo the Presley family used for several years around Memphis before it was later purchased by noted Chicago car collector Tom Petrozzini.

Petrozzini used it for family affairs and business meetings on occasion, but eventually put it in storage, where it sat gathering dust for decades until it was rediscovered after his death in 2014.

By the way, most of the high dollar cars weren't selling, the sellers still think it's 2017 and that prices are still rising, and they are trying to go out with record profits... but too late. Sales are down 34% at this weekends Pebble Beach Mecum sale, and those Ferrari 250s aren't pulling 22 million dollars anymore. The high bid was 20M, and that was 2M short of what Dana Mecum wanted for his '59 Ferrari 250 Monza. The average price is down, the median price is down.

So, if you're an investor who is looking to find out when to dump your investment car? You better hurry, prices are falling

A 4-speed Hydra-Matic fully automatic transmission was sourced from Lincoln rival Cadillac to deliver the highest available level of smooth motoring.

9 examples were closed limousines by Henney, and the convertibles by Dietrich were fitted with a removable Plexiglas top which allowed the president to see and be seen even in bad weather.

The 'bubbletop' soon became the name for the whole car. The car was built by the Ford Motor Company of Dearborn, Michigan with the coachwork handled by Dietrich.

In all, nineteen of these cars were built - ten hard tops for White House service and nine drop tops for other government and VIP use.

The 1950 Lincoln Cosmopolitans served three presidents - Truman, Dwight D. Eisenhower, and John F. Kennedy - from 1950 to 1961.
