and now, Darryl Hollenbeck has achieved more than being a paint legend, he has won the Americas Most Beautiful Roadster award

You might not have known his name, but you've seen his paint work, on most of the cars that Rick Dore has made for James Hetfield, and the Iron Orchid, and the Mi Rancho Grande station wagon above, is this gallery http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2010/01/mi-rancho-grande-painted-by-darryl.html

and was featured with a lace technique in the free issue of

that was given away at SEMA

and though I can't link to it, this car was the feature in the summer 2015 Hop Up magazine. They know a great car when they see it!

this 34 Ford is owned by Dave Shuten of Galpin Ford, http://galpinautosports.com/2010/04/dave-shuten/ was just featured in a Overdrive magazine, by Hot Rod ... was painted by Darryl Hollenbeck http://vintagecolorstudio.com/ ... and is called Iron Orchid   http://galpinautosports.com/2013/03/dave-shutens-iron-orchid/

it has an FE engine, with over a hundred thousand dollars of chrome pieces attached, but nothing newer than 1964 aftermarket parts... and the intake is a Mickey Thompson cross ram.

you would be incredibly surprised to see the underside of the belly pan, it"s amazing

Mi Rancho Grande painted by Darryl Hollenbeck at Vintage Color Studio, wow.

"The 59 Ranch wagon we had about 1200 total hours, with 150-200 in just paint work, door jams, under doors, tailgate, under hood, and yes it was my first panel job, but something I had wanted to try for awhile. I had done some blended job Back in the Acme days for Johnny D and Rick Dore."

Metallica's lead singer James Hetfield's Auburn boat tail speedster at the 2010 GNRS

I photographed this at SEMA, but the lighting was so lousy there, and these turned out much better, at the Grand National Roadster show they appreciate space around the cars to allow for photogrpahy, and it keeps people from getting close and touching the cars, without stantions and ropes. These photos are far better than the SEMA shots: http://justacarguy.blogspot.com/2009/11/james-hetfields-boat-tail-speedster.html
