on October 29, 1953 Chrysler changed the way to jack race cars, AND made pit stops faster.... with a warehouse pallet jack!

used a method of hoisting the car for tire changes even faster than the “rocker jacks” used at the Indianapolis 500. 

This was a hydraulic lifter of the type used to move freight in warehouses.

there is a lot going on in the pits here, so the photographer took several photos to capture the entire pit row (Sept 1963, Bridgehampton Double 500)

then turned to the right and took one photo I enlarged and cut into 3

then the photographer turned to his right a bit and took a shot of the rest of the pit row

Mechanics Wear company brought this awesome Pit Stop Challenge game to SEMA... effing great idea! Might be better than any vehicle they could have displayed instead

Jay Leno has a car collection in his Big Dog Garage, and they have a racing team, and it gets hauled around by a 1961 Flxible bus... that's classic!

The above is rare, it's a air cooled opposed piston engine like the VW... DB is the symbol on the nose of the car... stands for Deutsch-Bonnet...  the car is a HBR5  (thanks Graham!)
