Happy 97th to Isky!

He was born in 1921 in the grapevine country of Tulare County, California. His future as a winemaker never materialized because several heavy frosts destroyed the vineyards. These conditions forced the Iskenderian family to move to Los Angeles.

Matt Stone just wrote and published the 1st book on Isky I've ever heard of, " Isky: Ed Iskenderian and the History of Hot Rodding "

the story of Ed Iskenderian's pre-war Lake Muroc and car club activities, his military service, and how he started a small fabricating business in the back of a rented shop, plus the cam wars.

I saw a quick news bit in MCR about how it has hundreds of images from Isky's scrapbooks

Isky was in attendance at the Dry Lakes Racing Hall of Fame

And I had a good idea that he would be there, but forgot to bring my Isky Displacement Guide to see if I could get him to autograph it

Iskenderian Displacement Guide and Ratio Computer, 1953 Dream Wheel

Do you feel your socks were just blown off? Ain't that the coolest damn thing you've seen all day?!

DREAM WHEEL: A name for the Iskenderian Ratio Computer. Accurately converts MPH to RPM, or RPM to MPH . . . Set gear ratio desired opposite tire diameter, and read MPH opposite engine RPM. The dream wheel resembles a circular slide rule. http://www.iskycams.com/glossary.php

Thanks to Newt and Tris for letting me share this with you.
