As permitted by the regulations, neither the front nor the rear suspension retained a single original component. The front torsion bars and control arms, as well as the rear leaf springs, were eliminated and replaced with double wishbone suspension using ball joints. Koni shock absorbers, the same type used in the British Formula 5000 series, were fitted with coil springs at both the front and rear, complemented by a De Dion rear axle, also utilizing ball joints. The braking system featured larger disc brakes on all four wheels, each equipped with dual calipers, which were likewise derived from Trans-Am competition.

I was on hwy 67 this past Sunday with this Dart... wow, there was a lot of rumble, and there was a wonderful smell of burnt dinosaur juice. Clearly the exhaust from every other vehicle is really cleaned up by cats, and a single car without them, is easy to find

69 Dart into dump truck... fatal to the driver. I wonder if the crash was a result of the car being in the vicinity of the repair, was it coming over for brakes?

During post race inspection, both the winner (Jason Line) and the runner up (Jimmy Daniels) had their cars in the tech barn and failed tech inspection.

It's rare, but now and then, they are recovered and the owner gets their stolen car back! 

By the way, notice that the cops did nothing but put the news out that the car was stolen, and checked the location. They do not actually search for stolen cars. Once your car is stolen, you may as well look for it yourself, and do your own investigation. 

Ever heard of Della Woods, or seen this S/F Dart? (Thank you John S!)

Della Woods and her brother Bernie Woods were from Lake Orion, Michigan. Her racing career began during the 1960s. Woods was the first female driver in the five-second bracket in the funny car class, and the first female driver to compete in the semifinals at the NHRA National event.

During the 1990s, Woods began to run out of funding, and her racing career came to an end. She had beaten all the odds against her to express her passion in the field of auto racing.

1961 Dodge Dart Pioneer D500. I don't think I've ever seen one until now

This car is powered by a 361 cubic-inch Dart D500 V8 that was rated at 305 horsepower when new. The engine is teamed with a Carter AFB carburetor, a Mopar electronic ignition, a replacement radiator and heater core, and a dual exhaust system with an H-pipe crossover. Power is sent to the rear wheels through an A745 heavy-duty three-speed manual transmission and an 8¾” rearend with a Power-Lok differential and a 3.31:1 final gear ratio.
